Comparing a Spider-Web Tea Set

Given that I’ve previously posted on the design of the Spider Web Tea Set and commented on my preference for the traditional designs used by Tuscan China in the 1930’s to the 1950’s, I’d like to see what you think!

Compare the Spider-Web Tea Set (see earlier posts about this set here and here) with the Plate submitted by Tuscan China for the Festival of Britain 1951 which aimed to display contemporary British ceramic design.

While the Spider-Web Tea Set and the Festival of Britain Plate were created at similar times, the Festival of Britain Plate was never commercially produced. This Plate is currently part of the Victoria and Albert Museum collection.
